Description
The word “Convivium” derives from Latin and literally means banquet, but here it expresses its fullest meaning since our publication mainly focuses on table utensils and describes some old recipes in their original form.
The book also deals with the most abstract meaning of the word, that is the wisdom’s banquet, in order to make people think about the distinctive features of each artistic period in the book, thanks to table and eating customs.
The work illustrates the distinctive features of dishware ranging from earthenware to porcelain, before focusing on the use of utensils such as spoons, forks and glasses, dining room decorations, ending with table “garments”.
