The works presented in this book date back to the 18th century. These are suburban works on the edge between the old and the new, between the virtues the Counter-Reformation imposed and a more earthly and laic approach to life's pleasures.
These are works by local and passing artists who wanted to characterize the expression of figurative art in a Legation of the Papal States, through their stylistic or subject persistence or by embracing a new way of feeling, between virtues and senses.
