The topic of this book focuses on the work of Francesco Raibolini called “Il Francia". He was a very talented and successful painter of the 16th century. He was an eclectic artist. He started his career as a goldsmith, creating fine works that earned him honour and fame. He then shifted to painting and his works were immediately well-received, as the historians say. His paintings were elegantly, solidly and brightly made as the many images in this book show. "Il Francia" was also a well-educated and refined man, who was open to other sciences and maybe this was why he became the artist the Bentivoglio family favoured.
